CNC MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN
Job Description
The CNC Machine Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of CNC machines and associated equipment to ensure optimal functioning and minimal downtime. This role involves both mechanical and electrical knowledge and supports continuous production operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Routine Maintenance:
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on CNC machines (Turning, Milling, VMC, etc.).
- Check alignment, lubrication systems, coolant levels, and cleaning filters and spindles.
- Troubleshooting & Repairs:
- Identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic issues in CNC machinery.
- Respond promptly to machine breakdowns to minimize production interruptions.
- Installation & Calibration:
- Assist in the installation, alignment, and calibration of new CNC machines and equipment.
- Ensure all systems operate within manufacturer specifications and tolerances.
- Documentation:
- Maintain logs of maintenance activities, breakdown history, and repairs performed.
- Prepare reports on machine health, recurring problems, and maintenance KPIs.
- Spare Parts & Inventory:
- Monitor and maintain inventory of essential spare parts and tools.
- Coordinate with purchase/maintenance store for timely procurement of spares.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Follow all safety procedures during maintenance tasks.
- Ensure compliance with quality and safety standards (ISO, OSHA, etc.).
- Continuous Improvement:
- Provide suggestions to improve machine reliability and reduce maintenance costs.
- Participate in Kaizen, TPM, and 5S initiatives.
